The full-sized sports sedan model from Chrysler Corporation was first introduced in 2004 as 2005 model. It is the first mainstream rear wheel drive sedan model in North America that comes powered by V6 engine. It is designed by Ralph Gilles.

The Chrysler 300 model is designed and produced based on the rear wheel drive Chrysler LX platform. The models during 2005 to 2007 were produced by DaimlerChrysler, while the later models are produced by Chrysler LLC. The 300 model was released as a predecessor to 300M.
First Generation (2004-Present)
The first generation Chrysler 300 model is offered in sedan, station wagon and in convertible forms. It is offered in both four wheel drive and in rear wheel drive.
Available engines to the model include 2.7 liter EER V6, 3.5 liter EGG V6, 5.7 liter HEMI V8 and 6.1 liter HEMI V8 versions. Transmissions available include 4-speed and 5-speed automatic.

As far as the dimensions of the model are concerned, it has the wheel base of 120.0 inches, length of 196.8 inches, width of 74.1 inches and height of 58.4 inches. It is related to Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Freeman Thomas and Mercedes Benz E-Class versions.

The Chrysler 300 sedan model is offered in 7-trim versions, the base model, Touring, Limited, 300C, Heritage Edition, SRT Design Group and SRT-8. Other variants offered include station wagon, diesel, executive series 300 and 3000.
The Chrysler 300C model won the Motor Trends Car of the Year award in 2005 and Best New Luxury Car Award in 1998.
